We design and build private gym and wellness environments for North Texas homeowners who expect the same level of craft in their training space as in every other room. Grotto manages the full scope — design, procurement, and installation.
Most fitness spaces are furnished. Ours are designed from the ground up — every finish, every fixture, every piece of equipment chosen to make the room whole. A place to train hard, recover well, and share with the people who matter.
We work with homeowners across Southlake, Westlake, Colleyville, Flower Mound, Highland Park, and Mansfield — alongside custom builders and interior designers who want a specialist in the room. Our scope runs from the first floor plan to the final installation walkthrough. You tell us what matters. We handle the rest.
Seven integrated disciplines, one point of contact. Every vendor, every decision, every phase — managed by Grotto from start to finish.
We don't start with a catalog — we start with your space. The initial consultation establishes how you train, what your home already communicates architecturally, and what this room needs to accomplish before a single specification is written.
Space planning, scaled floor plans, photorealistic 3D renderings, and a full finishes and equipment presentation — built into a design package you can approve with confidence. You see exactly what you're getting before anything is ordered or constructed.
We carry authorized dealer relationships with the brands that belong in these rooms — which means better access, better pricing, and direct accountability on delivery. We manage orders, track lead times, and sequence arrivals around your construction schedule so your contractor isn't left waiting.
Recovery is no longer secondary — it's central to how serious athletes and wellness-focused homeowners think about their space. We design infrared sauna, cold plunge, and red light therapy environments that are fully integrated into the room from the start, not retrofitted into a corner after the fact.
The difference between a good gym and a great one is specification. We source and install premium rubber flooring, mirror systems, custom wall treatments, architectural lighting, and purpose-built millwork — each element chosen for how it performs and how it reads in the finished room.
Multi-zone audio, large-format displays, scene-based lighting control, and acoustic treatment — specified to work with the room's proportions and coordinated with your AV contractor or installed by ours. Technology should serve the space, not compete with it.
Running a room like this requires someone who knows how it's supposed to turn out. We act as the owner's representative throughout the build — keeping contractors on schedule, identifying issues before they compound, and holding each phase to the approved drawings. The project doesn't close until the room matches the rendering.
Four defined stages. No ambiguity about who owns what, or what happens next.
A site assessment and detailed intake conversation come first. We document your space dimensions, ceiling heights, natural light, existing architecture, and how you actually train. That information drives every decision downstream.
Floor plans, 3D renderings, finishes specs, and equipment selections are built into a complete design presentation. We walk through each decision together and revise until the package reflects exactly what you want to build.
Design approval triggers a coordinated procurement sequence. We place orders, confirm lead times with each vendor, and schedule deliveries around your construction timeline — so materials arrive when they're needed, not weeks early or after the crew has moved on.
We're on site. Flooring, mirrors, lighting, equipment placement, AV commissioning — each phase is reviewed against the approved drawings. The project closes with a final walkthrough and a room that matches the rendering.
Before we designed spaces for others, we built our own — three times over. This is the Yording garage gym: from bare walls and basic equipment in 2021, through a full gut and rebuild, to where it stands today. Every decision Grotto makes is informed by having actually lived this process.

Taking Shape
Grotto Wellness Design was founded by someone who has spent his career inside the fitness industry — and the last few years obsessing over what a properly designed home gym can actually feel like. Quinton comes from a background in personal training and coaching, including eight years at a nationally recognized premium fitness organization where he helped lead coaching development at the national level, and earned recognition among the company's top 100 trainers.
Grotto started with his own garage. Three full iterations over three years — each one more considered, more intentional, more finished than the last. What began as equipment in a room became a question he couldn't stop asking: why not make this space feel as intentionally designed as the rest of the house? That question brought us to where we are today: helping others develop beautiful spaces they can escape to within their own homes.
Every Grotto client works directly with Quinton from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. He also partners with custom home builders, luxury interior designers, and real estate professionals across North Texas who want a specialist they can refer without reservation.
